Site NEWS August 4th  2010 - What's this?  New Dreamcast game additions?  No, it can't be!!  Oh yes it can!  I found a box of games I had completely forgotten all about.  Probably because they're mostly girly dating simulations and adventure games.  But the good news is that Segagaga Domain actually gets a Dreamcast update after so many months.  So to start off these few weeks of new Dreamcast additions I have the following games - Air - Atelier Marie & Elie - Candy Stripe and Ever 17.

Saturn owners don't feels sad.  You too have updates this week.  Today sees the addition of the Blue Breaker Sample disc.  Plus we've got the standard selection of new Saturn movies added.  This week sees the additions of Steamhearts - Steeldom - Steep Slope Sliders - Strahl - Striker '96 - Strikers 1945 - Strikers 1945 II - Suchie Pai Heart Throbbing Nightmare - Super Keirin - Super Real Mahjong P.V - Super Real Mahjong P.7 - Super Puzzle Fighter II X and Super Robot Taisen F Final.

Next week Dreamcast fans will be happy to know that I'll be adding a few new Dreamcast game movies.

August 29th  2010 - Oh yeah, more Saturn movies added this week plus a nice little feature on a rare Mega Drive game.

Right, on with this week's Saturn movies additions - DX Jinsei Game 1 - DX Jinsei Game 2 - Terra Cresta 3D - Tetris Plus - Tetris S - The Battle of the Iron Chef - The Conveni - The Crow - The Horde - The Hyper Golf - The Tower - The Unsolved - Theme Park and Thor Seireiohkiden.

Last week on Yahoo Auctions there was a prototype of one of the most sort after Mega Drive games ever.  Tetris is the game in question.  Now you may be thinking that Mega Drive Tetris is pretty common.  Well, to tell the truth it's very likely that EVERY copy of Tetris you've ever seen is a pirate cartridge hacked version of the original.

The original Mega Drive Tetris was completed and even produced but at the very last minute before the game was to be put on sale a major problem cropped up with the Tetris license giving Nintendo exclusive rights to the game.  This resulted in all made copies being destroyed apart from one crate.  It's said that there are only 10 copies of the real Mega Drive Tetris in existence.  So if there are only 10 copies of the final made cartridge with box and instructions, just how many copies are there of the prototype?  Maybe only 1?  It just so happens that I was the middle man for the Tetris Prototype auction so here are some lovely scans just for you!

August 12th  2010 - !Calling all Retro Core fans!  The new show is now released!!!  Featuring 65 Sega Saturn beat'em ups and running for over two and a half hours this is sure to give you the biggest showcase of Saturn fighters out of any other games show ever!

July 26th  2010 - Can you believe it?  An new game has been added to the Saturn section.  Ok, It's a mahjong game but still, another title that you probably never knew about.  So if you feel like, head on over to the Nihon Pro Mahjong Renmei Kounin Doujou Yaburi page to see what I think of the game and to check out the scans.

As always there's a mountain of movie vault updates and keeping within the Saturn spirit the following movie updates have been added - Tohshinden URA - Ultraman: Hikari no Kyojin Densetsu - Vampire Hunter - Vampire Savior - Virtua Fighter - Virtua Fighter Remix - Virtua Fighter 2 - Virtua Fighter 2 Sample - Virtua Fighter Kids - Virtua Fighter Kids Java Tea Original - Waku Waku 7 - World Heroes Perfect and X-Men Children of the Atom.

July 19th  2010 - Do you remember a few weeks ago when I told you about the brand new video encoding software I'd started using allowing me to have 720 x 480 progressive scan videos here at Segagaga Domain without any real increase in file size?  Well it just got better thanks to a brand new RGB splitter I made.  Now the videos will look even sharper than ever.  Still not as sharp as the original captures because the videos need to be de-interlaced for the net but still much sharper than previous videos and much better than the stuff on YouTube.

Anyway, to kick off this new level in quality I have the following new Saturn videos - Pocket Fighter - Sailormoon SuperS and Tohshinden S.  Plus 24 updated Saturn videos - Digital Dance Mix now showing both songs in full - Galaxy Fight - Garou Densetsu 3 - Goiken Muyou Anarchy in the NIPPON - Groove on Fight - Golden Axe the Duel - Last Bronx - Marvel Super Heroes - Marvel Vs Street Fighter - Mortal Kombat II - Ninku - Pretty Fighter X - Primal Rage - Rabbit - Shinouken - Sokko Seitokai Sonic Council - Street Fighter Collection - Street Fighter Real Battle on Film - Street Fighter Zero - Street Fighter Zero 2 - Street Fighter Zero Dash - Suiko Enbu 1 - Suiko Enbu 2 and The King of Fighters '97.  I've also updated the Saturn "G" & "H" sections to the new format as well as cleaning up the text and errors.  Not only that but the movie pages now have links to game information from which the movie is taken.  So far I've only managed to add the new feature to all of the newly added movies and about 20 others.  Over time all movie pages will have links to the game information and vice versa.

July 4th  2010 - It's rainy season here in Japan right now which means awful hot sticky humid weather.  I hate summers in Japan.  But it's not all bad new.  This week the movie updates keep coming with the following updated Saturn additions.  Dragonball Z Shinbutohden -  Dragonball Z Idainaru - Fighters History Dynamite - Fighters Megamix - Fighting Vipers - Fist and Funky Head Boxers PLUS.  Only one new movie addition this week being Eternal Melody.

June 28th  2010 - Last weeks birthday for Segagaga Domain wasn't so good thanks to a problem with the video hosting caused by me :(  Luckily the nice people over at DreamHost have sorted it all out so all videos are now working.  So as a recap, last week the following videos were added although you couldn't watch them.  Asuka 120% Burning Fist - Astra Super Stars - Battle Monsters and Criticom.  New movies are  2Do Arukotowa Sandoahru - AI Shogi and Baldy Land.  This week I have some new additions which are DDD Project and D-Xhird.   Oh, and the Saturn "D" section has been updated to the new format as well as many errors being fixed.

June 13th  2010 - No new movies this week which may disappoint some but I do have some new scans to show all Saturn fans out there.  Digital Pinball Necornomicon Sample - Magical Drop III Sample - Panzer Dragoon Double  Pack and Tactics Formula Sample.  Some nice additions if I do say so my self.  I've also updated the Saturn number and A sections to the new format.  You may have also noticed that the frame from the top is now missing.  This is due to mobile devices having trouble with it.  It also meant that I had to install HOME buttons on many pages.  What a pain that was but at least the site now works better on mobile devices.

June 7th  2010 - More movies added to the site this week for all you Saturn fans plus I've re-done the Saturn "S" section in the new format plus checked every page for errors.  man, that was a long job!  I've also changed 1 or 2 other pages through out the Saturn section to the new format.

Now what about those movies?  Well, I've added improved videos in the new HD format for Cyberbots - Dead or Alive - Final Fight Revenge - Street Fighter Zero 3 - The King of Fighters '95 - The King of Fighters '96 and X-Men VS Street Fighter.  Brand new videos are  Bakusho!! All Yoshimoto Quiz Ou Ketteisen DX - Senryaku Shogi - Ultraman Zukan 2 -  Ultraman Zukan 3 and Voice Fantasy.

May 31st  2010 - Another week has passed.  Alan Wake kept me busy on the 360 and now I'm going for a 100% achievement on Otomedius G but I've still managed to make a few Saturn movies for everyone to enjoy.  This weeks additions are - Seikai-Risshiden - Shanghai - The Great Wall - Shunsai - Sorvice - Spot Goes to Hollywood - Suikoden Tendo 108 Sei - Taikou Rishinden II - The House of the Dead - The Psychotron and Transport Tycoon.

May 23rd  2010 - It's a big job but I'm sticking with it.  The Saturn "T" section has now been updated to the new format and all pages checked for broken links as well as having the write ups tidied up.  I've also added two new titles to the Saturn section this week as well, being Legend of K-1 Grand Prix '96 and Virtual Volleyball.

New videos for you Saturn fans this week as well in 720p!  New this week we have Updated videos for Real Bout Garou Densetsu - Real Bout Garou Densetsu Special - Samurai Spirits 3 and Samurai Spirits 4.  New additions are Private Idol 5 - Private Idol 8 - Private Idol - 10 - Private Idol 11 - Private Idol Race Queen G - Pukunpa - Sankyo Fever 3 and Sangokushi Eiketsuden.

May 16th  2010 - Sega Saturn movie bonanza this week with 14 new titles being added to the Movie Vault.  And of course they're all in the new 720p format.  Here's what's new - AI Shogi 2 -  Ayakashi Ninden Kunoichiban Plus - Croc - Find Love 2 -Rhapsody- - Gekka No Kishi -Ouryusen- - Idol Mahjong Final Romance 2 - Layer Section 2 - Masked Rider File of Tactics 1 - Momotarou Douchuuki - Mourimotonari Chikainosanshi - M.S. Gundam Gihren no Yabou Kouryaku Shireisho - PD Ultraman Link - Virtua Racing and Virtual Volleyball.

Continuing with the new layout update, the Saturn U and V sections have been updated.

May 8th  2010 - No updates for over a month?  What's going on?  I hear you all ask.  Well, truth be told I've been gaming.  There's so much great stuff to play these days on my 360 that I don't get time to do much else.  Latest game to eat up my time is No More Heroes.  After completing it on the Wii I just had to go back to it on the 360.  Then we have all the other cool stuff such as After Burner Climax and Ray Force HD better known as Layer Section II to us Sega fans and then we have Alan Wake coming soon.  Man, there just isn't enough time in a day.

Anyway, apart from having a gaming overdose there are other reasons for the lack of updates.  Firstly I've been re-doing the game pages with a more cleaner information display and video link.  I've done the W, X, Y and Z sections so far but that's not the most exciting news.  I've also been experimenting with a new video encoder for the site.  As you know, I'm not a fan of poor video quality and while the videos on my site are good they weren't want I always wanted until now.  Yes, from today all new videos added to the Movie Vault will be in 720p !  And best of all the video file size isn't much bigger than the format I've been using.  So to kick off this new age of video quality for Segagaga Domain we have the following Saturn movies - Layer Section - Legend of K-1 Grand Prix '96 - Zap Snowboarding Trix, Zap Snowboarding Trix '98 - Zenbu Nippon Pro Wrestling - Zero 4 Champ - Zero Divide Final Conflict - Zoku Gussun Oyoyo and Zork 1.

March 24th  2010 - What a fantastic week it's been with After Burner Climax coming out on the 360.  This is what Sega is all about.  Pure no-nonsense arcade fun.  I'm not joking when I say it's like a breath of fresh air.  Let's hope Sega bring out more of it's arcade hits on the 360.  I'd love to see Daytona USA or Scud Racer.

Anyway, how about loads more Mega CD movies added to the site?  This week sees the additions of Captain Tsubasa - Dynamic Country Golf - Gambler Jiko Chushinha 2 - Game Kanzume Vol:1 - Game kanzume Vol:2 - Might & Magic III - Nobunaga no Yabou - Sangokushi III - Super League CD and Winning Post.  Next week I'll be back on to the Saturn.  I just wanted to pad out the Mega CD movie section of the site since it looked a bit thin on the ground.

March 11th  2010 - I've something special added to the site this week.  It's big, heavy and can play movies as well as music CDs and games.  What is it?  It's the Pioneer LaserActive with Sega PAC.  Considered as the second most rare officially produced Mega Drive based console right behind the Aiwa stereo / Mega Drive combo.  Check it out over at the hardware section of the site.

March 6th 2010 - And the Mega CD movies just keep coming!  A bit late again this week I'm afraid but there are a few good movies worth watching.  This weeks include - 3x3 Eyes - After Armageddon - Alshark - A-Rank Thunder - Bakuden: Unbalanced Zone - Capcom no Quiz: Tonosama no Yabou - Daihoushinden - Ishii Hisaichi no Daisekai - Psychic Detective Series Vol:3 AYA and Psychic Detective Series Vol:4 Orgel.

March 31st 2010 - A bit of a late update this week but all due to a good reason.  I was waiting for my RGB modded Wondermega to arrive and let me tell you it was well worth the wait.  many of you will have noticed the poor video quality on the Mega CD videos.  This is due to the Wondermega's composite video out.  Mine had a problem with the S-Video out so composite was all I had.  Now thanks to this RGB mod my s-video port works however I doubt I'll be using that with the lovely RGB port added!.  Just check out this week's additions to see the different in quality.  Newly added movies are - Aisle Lord - Aoki Ookami to Shiroki Meshika - Burai - Mega Schwarzschild - Shin Megami Tensei - Tenbu: Mega CD Special and Tenka Fubu: Eiyuutachi no Houkou.
